Background

Arik Air is very famous commercial airline of West Africa. Established in 2006, it is working as domestic, regional and international flights operator. Arik Air has a fleet size of 26 aircrafts including two airbuses A340-500. They fly to a number of destinations throughout the world including Trinidad and Tobago, Amsterdam, London, Madrid in European countries; Atlanta, Miami, Houston in US region and Birmingham in UK. Altogether, it flies to 28 different destinations. Basically, it operates from two main points in Nigeria including Murtala Muhammad International Airport, Lagos and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in the state of Abuja. It's headquarter is in Arik Air Aviation Center, Murtala Muhammad International Airport, Ikeja.



Customer Demands

In order to guarantee the flight safety and quality of services, bridging, catering, chocking, comprehensive check and maintenance etc, need to be done after aircraft parking. The work flow is complex and needs coordination from different departments. A reliable wireless communication system is necessary to provide unified communication and improve efficiency.



Hytera Solutions

With deep understanding of customer's demands, Hytera's DMR conventional system with 3 DMR repeaters, 140 PD70X was deployed to service Arik Air.

Three RD98X repeaters were installed in two airports at Murtala Muhammad International Airport, Lagos and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in the state of Abuja and interconnected by IP link. With Hytera's DMR conventional system, staff from different departments and different airports could communicate with each other, share information instantly and take effective action.
